Production Blog: Final Task

Today I will be talking the process for filming the opening sequence for our film. We started filming on February 20, since this was the day when all of our schedules aligned and when we would be able to get the most filming done. Let me just start off by saying that this was not filmed in the order of beginning to end.

We started filming around the noon, we had around four characters on set and the first scene we did was the scene at target. We filmed the scene when out main protagonist saw the antagonist watching them from the distance. This was kind of weird to film since this scene was in a very public setting and there was plenty of people passing behinds us. Not to mention it was especially awkward when someone needed to grab something from the shelf behind us. Other than the embarrassment of filming in public I would say that filming this scene went rather nicely.

The next scene we filmed was the unpacking car scene where our protagonist would be outside unpacking the car. There they would have their second encounter with our antagonist in which he would run back into the house to get his sister to show her. When the sister gets outside the antagonist would have already been gone, so then the protagonist would seem crazy. The next group of scenes we shot was the opening scenes, with the group of friends playing the game and the protagonist asking to play. In these group of scene we also see the them play the game and the spooky effects that happens with the game. The final set of scenes we shoot are the scenes are the scenes where the protagonist sees the antagonist for the first time.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to complete all of the filming which means we have to pick another day to film. I am very worried about certain aspects regarding the filming though. Like the fact that all of our schedules are packed so it is very difficult to find any other day to film outside of our chosen film day. Since we couldn't get all the filming done on our chosen date it will be very hard to find another filming date to film the rest of the scenes. I just need to remember to remain positive and remember the end goal of the film. Soon we will begin filming and I am so excited for our opening sequence to be finished.
